New Additions to 2013 Draft Prospects

It has been more than a decade since a product has been dedicated to the Draft Prospects. On June 20, 2013, In The Game will launch our first product dedicated to the Draft, 2013 Draft Prospects.

Each box will contain 12 cards. Three Autograph Cards, two Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia Cards and seven Premium Base Cards.

Autograph Cards

Always listening to collectors, we set out to get hard-signature on our Autograph Cards for this product even if it meant sending cards to Russia, Sweden and Finland. The results are astonishing featuring almost all the 2013 Draft Prospects that are projected to be drafted in the first round. This includes the "big three" of Seth Jones, Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin.

Some of the European prospects in this product also projected to be picked in the Draft are Aleksander Barkov, Rasmus Ristolainen, Alexander Wennberg, Robert Hagg, Jacob de-la Rose and Elias Lindholm.

Along with the great list of 2013 Draft Prospects in the Autograph Card checklist collectors will find several Future Draft Prospects including Team Canada Star, Connor McDavid.

Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia Cards

The Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia in this product will be amazing. Insert sets include; Game-Used Jersey, Game-Used Patch, Future Prospect Game-Used Jersey, Future Prospect Game-Used Patch, Draft Year, Country of Origin, Past and Future, Present and Future, Past/Present and Future, Teammates, Top Prospect Game Complete Jersey. ITG 2013 Spring Expo Plans

In The Game is pleased to announce some of our plans for the 2013 Spring Expo to be held May 3-5 in Toronto at the International Centre. We never miss participating at the Expo, it is our chance to meet many of our loyal collectors and reward them for their loyalty through our Redemption Programs.

We hope one day all ITG collectors will have a chance to participate in one of our Redemption Programs. The following are the three Redemption Programs at the 2013 Spring Expo.

Ultimate Memorabilia 12th Edition Redemption

Each collector opening a pack of UM-12 will receive an Ultimate Legacy card featuring three pieces of game-used memorabilia. That's right if you open a five-pack box of UM-12 you will receive 5 Triple Memorabilia Cards unique to the 2013 Spring Expo.

There are 75 different Ultimate Legacy Redemption Cards in the program. Each card is limited to 20 silver versions and 5 gold versions.

2012-13 Between The Pipes Edition

Open a box of the newly released 2012-13 Between The Pipes at the Spring Expo and receive a specially made Masked Men Redemption Card limited to either 10 or 20 cards. These unique game-used memorabilia cards feature authentic memorabilia from a list of collector-favorite Masked Men. There are 60 cards in the Masked Men 5 Redemption Card checklist. The Game-Used Jersey cards have 19 silver versions and 1 gold version. The Game-Used Glove cards have 9 silver versions and 1 gold version and the Game-Used Pad cards have nine silver versions and 1 gold version. The entire checklist of Masked Men Redemption Cards will be posted prior to the Spring Expo.

Priority Signatures

2013 Spring Expo will feature the Inaugural Edition of In The Game's Priority Signatures. Open a box of 2012-13 Heroes and Prospects and receive a Heroes and Prospects Priority Signature Autograph Card. The Priority Signature Autograph Cards feature many of the great Autograph cards featured in Heroes and Prospects since its inception. Each card is limited to a maximum of five cards and many are limited to just one copy.

Game-Used Memorabilia Display

Each Expo In The GameLand features a stunning game-used memorabilia display. Past Expo have featured my All-Star Jersey display, my vintage Toronto Maple Leafs display and my Enshrined Hall of Fame display. For the 2013 Spring Expo, we are teaming up with the CHL to present a memorable display of CHL jerseys worn by some of today's greatest young stars. Taylor Hall-Windsor, Steven Stamkos-Sarnia, Dustin Brown-Guelph, John Tavares-Oshawa and many more.

In The GameLand is the place to be during the 2013 Spring Expo with many more attractions to be announced prior to the event including, Deal or No Deal sponsored by Prince Wholesale.

2013 Draft Prospects

The best hockey players in the world have sat, waited for their names to be called, walked up to the podium, donned their new team's jersey and posed for the draft day photo.

This year In The Game will celebrate the 2013 Draft with an exciting product, 2013 Draft Prospects. It has been over two decades since a hockey draft prospects product has been made and this one won't disappoint.

Gibraltar Trade Center Show - Message from Dr. Price

Collectors:

When we were asked to do a redemption for Motown Madness at the Gibraltar Trade Center Show this weekend, we were told that the once mighty card show was a shadow of itself with maybe one or two wax dealers.

Because of our loyal collector base in the Detroit/Windsor area, we committed to do the show. We stamped 1/1 on the game-used memorabilia card and the autograph cards in order to have about 300 redemption cards.

From the beginning of the show, we have been overwhelmed at the response. Box and case breakers swarmed our table, so much that the show promoters received complaints from our neighbors that the crowd was blocking their tables.

By 12:00 on Saturday it looked like we were going to run out of stamped 1/1 redemption cards.

That's good and bad. Good that the reaction to this product and this redemption was so positive and bad that some collectors who bought boxes with the intention of breaking them at the show, would be shutout.

At 12:00, I made the "executive" decision to offer collectors their choice of a 1/1 stamped redemption card (until they ran out) or a 1/10 unique memorabilia card that we would produce after the show and send to the collectors.

In that way, no one who wanted to break our product at the show would be disappointed. A perfect solution? No, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances.

Thank you to everyone attending the show and breaking Motown Madness, I am "blown away" by your response. Thank you to the staff at the Gibraltar Trade Center for your understanding and thank you to our staff member Dan Hurst who has been working his "buns" off at the show.

Monahan making a name for himself

The Ottawa 67's are going through a rebuilding process this season, but they do have one of the best draft-eligible players in Sean Monahan, who is having another great year with the club.

Chosen 16th overall in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, he made an immediate impact in the nation's capital by scoring 20 goals as a rookie in 2010-11 and winning a Gold Medal with Team Ontario at the U-17 World Championship. Last season, his development continued in a strong fashion as he put up 78 points over 62 regular season games and made some strong contributions during the playoffs.

As a result, there was a lot of buzz surrounding him heading into the current campaign and he ranked among the top scorers in the OHL with 65 points after 47 appearances. He kicked off the year with a seven-game point streak and also served as an assistant captain for Team Orr at the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. With the regular schedule heading into its home stretch, he is turning things up a few notches to make an even greater impression with scouts and has points in his last six outings - including a hat trick that came in an 8-5 win over the visiting Windsor Spitfires.

Monahan's first appearance in an In The Game product came in 2011-12 as part of the Heroes & Prospects Update Set. This year, he is featured quite prominently as part of the popular Class of 2013 subset in addition to having an Autograph card and several game-used memorabilia cards. Be sure to look for him in such limited collections as the SUBWAY Super Series Jersey & Auto, Class of 2013 Autographs and Nameplates as well.

With the release date about two weeks away, we would like to thank our collectors, dealers and distributors for their support with this product.

We are almost SOLD OUT in advance of the release. We are very proud of this fact.

We have a surprise for collectors of Motown Madness as well. We have waited until now to announce this insert because we were not sure if we would be able to make it happen in time.

We recently acquired pieces of the boards from both the Detroit Olympia and the Joe Louis Arena. Working with the boards from the Joe Louis Arena was relatively easy.

The boards from the Detroit Olympia were different. They were very old, not well stored and from a curved section. This made cutting them in to flat pieces for signing very difficult but not impossible.

Nathan MacKinnon 2012-13 Heroes & Prospects

The In The Game blog recently discussed Seth Jones of the Portland Winterhawks and with last week's release of the 2012-13 edition of Heroes and Prospects, we will cover the other prime prospect for the first overall selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft - Nathan MacKinnon of the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads.

A native Nova Scotian, MacKinnon has drawn comparisons to Sidney Crosby in recent years and is a product of the minor league system in Cole Harbour. From there, he followed in the big league star's footsteps to the respected program at Shattuck-Saint Mary's for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 campaigns. While he briefly considered taking the collegiate route, he was taken first overall in the 2011 QMJHL Draft by the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Soon after, his rights were dealt off in a blockbuster trade with Halifax.

As a rookie in 2011-12, he drew a great deal of praise from both fans and scouts and demonstrated that he has the potential to become an elite player. He recorded 31 goals and 47 assists over 58 games and even had a five-goal outing against the Quebec Remparts. During the playoffs, he was spectacular with 28 points over 17 games as the Mooseheads came close to making it to the final round.

The 2012-13 season has allowed him to make a strong case for being the first pick on draft day and has recorded 67 points over his first 39 appearances. From October 2 to November 3, 2012, he recorded a point in 13 straight games which included a hat trick while facing the Saint John Sea Dogs. In addition to playing for Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship, he also got yet another chance to impress scouts as Halifax hosted the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

With the current season heading into its home stretch, the Mooseheads have a strong grip on the top spot in the QMJHL and a lot of attention will be placed on MacKinnon along with his draft-eligible teammates Jonathan Drouin and Zach Fucale. All three players can be found on a variety of cards within packs of 2012-13 Heroes and Prospects and are already highly sought by collectors.

Seth Jones - 12/13 Heroes & Prospects

A big debate among many hockey fans these days revolves around which elite prospect will be taken first in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. On one hand, there is the exciting Nathan MacKinnon of the QMJHL's Halifax Mooseheads and on the other, there is Seth Jones, who currently stars for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL.

A natural athlete that is drawing a great deal of praise from scouts for his puckhandling ability and physical play, his father, "Popeye" Jones, spent 11 seasons playing in the NBA and is currently an assistant coach with the Brooklyn Nets. Over the previous two seasons, Jones was a part of the United States National Team Development Program and was selected in the WHL Bantam Draft by the Everett Silvertips. The Winterhawks traded for his rights and he made his major junior debut against the Seattle Thunderbirds on September 21, 2012. As the 2012-13 campaign progressed, he recorded several multi-point efforts which included three assists in a 7-5 triumph over the Silvertips on December 4.

Selected to represent his country at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship, he led all tournament defenders with six assists and chipped in a goal as the Americans went on to capture the Gold Medal. Soon after his return to WHL action, he appeared in the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and served as Team Orr's captain in a 3-0 victory.

While the fate of Jones will not be clear for a few months, he will be making a major case for himself on the ice. With recent changes made to rookie card eligibility by the NHL and NHLPA, hockey card collectors will be demanding cards of the hottest young players - many of which will be found in the 2012-13 edition of Heroes & Prospects and Jones is going to have a strong presence in the product with a revolutionary 3-D base card to go along with autographed cards. One of those autographs is from the super-limited Class of 2013 set and only 13 copies will be found in packs.

A Message From Dr. Price

I wanted to give my reaction to the NHLPA’s announcement yesterday about the fact that there will be no “Rookie Cards” in the 2012-13 products and the announcement from Panini that several of their 2012-13 products are being cancelled.

My reply is multi-faceted.

I have great concerns for the dealers whose primary sales come from hockey trading cards. While these dealers struggled during the hockey lockout, they anxiously waited for the game to get back on the ice so that they could enjoy “business as usual”. Well the lockout was resolved but this announcement seems to be just as devastating.

Let’s face it; the dealers are the core of the industry and without them collectors would not be able to find the products they are looking for.

From now until the end of this season, In The Game will continue to manufacture and deliver quality products to our dealers. We will also increase our dealer programs to help “drive traffic” to our dealers and try to bridge the gap until the start of the 2013-14 products.

As a collector myself, I don’t feel that this decision is a good one. There is a season, although shortened. There are rookies playing this year. It is not like the 2004-5 season where there was no choice as there were no rookies taking the ice.

Having said that, I am sure there are factors that went into this decision that are way over my head. If both Upper Deck and Panini agreed to this solution; then who am I to judge their rationale.

The lockout was about money, plain and simple. Is this decision about money as well?

Ask yourself that question, not sure I know the answer.

On a third front, I am certainly glad that I did not accept the NHLPA’s proposal this summer for a two-release one-year license. Had I done so, my first obstacle would have been the lockout and then my second obstacle would have been no rookies.

Sometimes the deals you don’t make are your best deals”.

February 28, 2013 will mark the release date of In The Game’s tribute to the Detroit Red Wing Franchise – Motown Madness.

As we work diligently on this project our entire staff is “seeing red”, Red Wing Red.

In each box of Motown Madness collectors will find 5 Premium Base Cards, 4 Autograph Cards, 2 Authentic

First Look at 12-13 Heroes & Prospects

We are pleased to give collectors their first look at the 2012-13 edition of Heroes and Prospects.

While some of collectors’ favorite features will be continued in the new product, there will also be some great new ones.

This year’s base card set will 199 cards. The first 30 cards will be Heroes, the next 120 cards will be Prospects and the last 49 base cards in the set will be 2013 Draft Picks. However, the Draft Picks will feature our new 3-D fronts. You won’t believe the way these cards look. In my opinion, the best 3-D cards the hobby has ever seen.

This year for the very first time, the entire Prospects part of the set will feature CHL players only.

Collectors have asked for more CHL coverage and this year they will get it. I have been asked year after year to increase the numbers of juniors in the product. This year I was able to make this happen by concentrating solely on the juniors. This happens to be a great year to do so as there are some great prospects in the CHL this year.

2012-13 Heroes and Prospects will pose a very interesting dilemma for collectors, “to collect or not collect”.

Let me elaborate. The Decoy Cards in this product have been designed in a similar way to the 2011-2 Between The Pipes Puzzle Cards. So collectors will have to choose between collecting the Decoy/Puzzle cards or submitting them for redemption cards.

Thanks for a great Fall Expo

The recently completed Fall Expo in Toronto could not have been better at In The GameLand.

Collectors marveled at my Forever Rivals collection featuring game-used memorabilia from Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leaf greats including; Patrick Roy, Darryl Sittler, Doug Gilmour, Jacques Plante, Carey Price, Howie Morenz, Terry Sawchuk and more.

“Deal or No” sponsored by Prince Wholesale was again a hit with collectors and many prizes were given out to lucky contestants.

“Shoot to Win” saw us go through six cases of product. Boy there were some good shots at the Expo. Young and old, boys and girls. Next Expo I might have to make the “five hole” a little smaller.

“Spin To Win” made everyone happy, the first 500 to enter the show got a coupon to spin the In The GameLand wheel and everyone won a prize.

The redemptions were also great featuring our latest two products; Forever Rivals and Superlative Hockey Volume III. Redemptions were so strong, we almost ran out of redemption cards.

Raising Funds for Movember

In The Game has committed to raise funds for the Movember cause. On Saturday Spencer Martin signed free autographs at In The GameLand and on Sunday Aaron Ekblad signed for free as well.

A special 5 x 7 card was made of each player and for a $5 donation, collectors could acquire them. Sales were great and our donation for these items will be strong.

History of Hockey Art/Memo Cards A Hit!

It is less than one week to the Fall Expo and things are starting to heat up at In The Game.

The staff at In The Game are like Santa’s little helpers when they prepare for Christmas, but our little helpers are preparing for the Fall Expo.

We just finished hand-packing Superlative Hockey 3 and now our attention is 100% on the Fall Expo and the preparations that go into In The GameLand.

On Saturday we are pleased to have Spencer Martin signing at In The GameLand.

Considered one of the brightest un-drafted goaltending prospects in junior hockey today, Martin has been making a name for himself in preparation for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, he played in 15 contests for the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors and ranks second among all OHL goalies in goals-against average as part of the new Steelheads club.

After 10 games this year, he has an incredible 8-1 record. Despite losing his first outing of 2012-13, he has been undfeated since that time and will continue to make a big impression with scouts.

On Sunday we are pleased to have Aaron Ekblad signing at In The GameLand.

Already rated as a prime prospect for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Ekblad is currently a sophomore defenseman with the OHL’s Barrie Colts. The first overall pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection, he made a huge impression as a 15-year-old rookie last season and was named the winner of the Emms Family Award as the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2011-12.

This season, he has continued to develop into one of the best young blueliners in junior hockey and has 12 points over his first 15 games. He recently scored a goal in three straight contests, including the winner against Brampton on October 25, 2012.

The signings are free and the times will be posted on Friday night at In The GameLand.

History of Hockey Masterpieces

Who needs Picaso, Rembrant, da Vinci, Monet or van Gogh.

Certainly not In The Game, our artists have created a new generation of masterpieces.

In The Game’s groundbreaking History of Hockey product, due out in mid-December will feature four cards in each box. One Authentic Rookie card slabbed by Beckett, one PSA/DNA Authenticated Autographed card, one In The Game Buy-Back card and one Great Moments in Hockey History Art/Memo card

Some of the art being created for this product is breathtaking

This card features the Production Line (Howe, Lindsay and Abel). Each card is hand painted on the card and features an authentic piece of a Gordie Howe Detroit Red Wings jersey. There are 10 of these card in the product but each one is a 1/1 as they are individually painted.

When I received this King Clancy hand painted card back from the artist, I did a double take. The image is so well done, it looks like a photo but it is not. There are 10 of these cards in the product and each is a 1/1 hand-painted card featuring an authentic piece of King Clancy game-used memorabilia.

Our artist certainly captured the intensity of Rocket Richard. Each card is hand-painted directly on the card and features an authentic piece of a Rocket Richard Montreal Canadiens’ jersey. There are 10 of these cards in the product, again each is a 1/1 card. The artist on this piece painted on special version in black and white. It is stunning.

This image needs no description. The 10 1/1 hand-painted art card each feature a piece of a Paul Henderson game-used stick. Painted by Jared Kelley, each one is n unique piece of art.

Charlie Conacher hand-painted card with authentic Game-Used Memorabilia commemorating the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Stanley Cup Victory the first year they played in Maple Leaf Gardens. An iconic Leaf captain led his time to the ultimate prize.

Along with the one card hand-painted cards, there are Art/Memo cards which feature reproductions of art especially created for History of Hockey. The vintage Art/Memo cards are out of 10 with all others being out of 50.

Redemption Programs

Collectors can always count on a special Redemption Program from In The Game and the 2012 Fall Expo Redemption Program won’t disappoint. The two products being redeemed at the Fall Expo are Forever Rivals and Superlative Hockey Volume III.

Forever Rivals Redemption

Collectors opening a box of Forever Rivals at the In The Game booth at Fall Expo will receive a Forever Rivals Game-Used Memorabilia card especially produced for the 2012 Fall Expo.

There will be 54 different Forever Rivals Fall Expo Redemption Cards produced.

48 of the cards will have 19 silver versions and a 1/1 gold version. The last 6 cards will have 9 silver version and a 1/1 gold version.

The cards will feature two, four and six authentic game-used memorabilia pieces.

In addition, everyone who redeems a box of Forever Rivals at the Fall Expo will be eligible to receive a special Forever Rivals commemorative art piece by Paul Madden. Each collector breaking a Forever Rivals box will receive a coupon to fill out for the draw for the commemorative art piece.

First In Depth Look at Forever Rivals

For decades, there has been one hockey rivalry that has proven to supercede all others, that’s the rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Fierce regular season clashes and playoff meetings have been burned into the memory of hockey fans as this battle often extends beyond the ice to a deep-rooted dislike for the other side.

Forever Rivals is an all-new collection which will provide a cardboard examination of the intensity between these two teams and it is sure to be a hit with fans everywhere. In The Game has gone to great lengths to produce the first full-out tribute to this long-running battle for the undying loyalty of hockey fans and it will be loaded with some of the most appealing cards the company has produced to date.

Starting with a 100-card premium base set, Forever Rivals will pay tribute to the greatest players who have worn the Blue and White and the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge. Whether it is early pioneers like Howie Morenz and Ace Bailey or modern stars Carey Price and Dion Phaneuf, collectors will find a historical "who's who" of hockey legends.

The Non-Memorabilia inserts will feature some great moments in this rivalry. The subsets are Double Agents, Playoff Matchups, Rivalry, Immortals, Great Moments and Net Rivals.

Forever Rivals in Full Swing

The release date has been set for Forever Rivals – October 13, 2012.

This rivalry transcends the game itself. Players on one team truly hated the players on the other team, on and off the ice. The Blue and White vs. The Bleu Blanc et Rouge. It all began February 24, 1927 and continues today almost 90 years later.

Hard-signed autographs will be featured in this product. More information will be available in the very near future but in the meantime here are a couple of images to take a look at:

ITG’s Big Plans for the National

In The Game has some big redemption plans for the 33rd National this August in Baltimore, Maryland.

There will be three products being redeemed at this year’s National. The UM-11 National SuperBox, Broad Street Boys and 2011-12 Between The Pipes.

This June, to commemorate this storied franchise, In The Game is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Broad Street Boys - The History of the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Franchise in trading cards.

Each box will contain 14 cards. 8 Base Cards and 6 Inserts. Production run on this product will be extremely limited.

The Base Card set will depict the history of the Flyers. Subset sets include; Expansion Year, Broad Street Bullies, Triumph and Tragedy, Contending in the 90s, New Millennium and Continuing the Tradition. From Lou Angotti of the 1967-68 team to Brayden Schenn of the 2011-12 team.

The insert sets won't disappoint either. The 6 inserts in each box will be a combination of Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia Cards and Authentic Autograph Cards.

Can't believe it but the Spring Expo is upon us.

Seems like we were just packing up our booth at the Fall Expo. In The GameLand will be back, bigger and better than ever. Between The Pipes 10th Anniversary Set Hunt

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Between The Pipes the ITG all-goalie product we have a created the Between The Pipes 10th Anniversary Set Hunt.

The first 750 collectors coming to the Spring Expo each day will be given a special ticket at the door which entitles them to received a special show-stamped 10th Anniversary buyback base card which come from previous releases.
There are 50 different cards that are limited to 50 copies each and there is a special prize available for a lucky collector that collects a complete set by obtaining them from other attendees – a sealed 10-box case of the 2011-12 Between The Pipes!

I have some important news, well maybe not news but reminders for In The Game collectors.

Ultimate Giveaway Promotion

Randomly inserted into packs of UM-11, collectors can find Ultimate Giveaway cards.

There are ten different Ultimate Giveaway cards. Each Ultimate Giveaway card depicts a different piece of game-used memorabilia on the front of the card. There are six of each of these cards inserted into the product, each one is a different color.

For example there are six different Ultimate Giveaway cards depicting a game-used Brett Hull San Jose All-Star game-used jersey, each one of the six cards is a different color.

Each Ultimate Giveaway card qualifies you to win an authentic piece of game-used memorabilia from In The Game. In order to qualify for the “Spin To Win” event at the Spring Expo in Toronto, all Ultimate Giveaway Cards must be received by In The Game no later than April 15, 2012.

Spin To Win Event

At the Spring Expo in Toronto in the In The Gameland booth, we will spin our In The Game wheel to see who wins the game-used memorabilia.

If the color on the wheel matches the card you submit, you will receive the game-used memorabilia. We will continue to spin the In The Game wheel until a winner is declared from the Ultimate Giveaway Cards registered by April 15, 2012.

All authentic game-used memorabilia will be given away at the Spring Expo. So please make sure that any Ultimate Giveaway cards you have are in our hands by April 15, 2012. You cannot bring them to the Spring Expo to qualify, they must be sent to us prior to the deadline.

Emerald Ice Redemption

Collectors of the 2010-11 Between The Pipes are well aware of the error that was made on the back of the Emerald Masked Men cards.

The Emerald Version of the Masked Men Cards was announced on the In The Game website as out of 340 of each card; however, 1/1 was printed on the back of each and every Emerald Masked Men card in error.

Even though there is nothing that we could have done about this error except apologize, we wanted to give collectors an option to make their Emerald Masked Men cards more valuable.

So we created the Emerald Masked Men Redemption Program. All redemptions for the 2010-11 Between The Pipes Emerald Masked Men Redemption” Program must be sent by April 30, 2012. We will not redeem any cards sent after that date and please note, we will also not return cards received after that date.

10-11 Between The Pipes He Shoots He Saves Redemption Program

"He Shoots, He Saves" Between The Pipes redemption cards can be found inserted in all packs of 2010-11 Between The Pipes except those that contain memorabilia cards. Every "He Shoots, He Saves" redemption card is worth one point.

Once you accumulate 200 redemption points, you are eligible to receive a special game-used memorabilia card not available in packs. Redemption points may be redeemed for special Between The Pipes "He Shoots, He Saves" game-used memorabilia cards.

There will be 30 of these special Between the Pipes game-used memorabilia cards and each will be individually hand-numbered out of 20. These cards will be sealed in In The Game memorabilia card holders. All redemptions for the 2010-11 Between The Pipes "He Shoots, He Saves" Redemption Program must be sent by April 30, 2012.

So don't delay one month to go. So three important dates and all in April. We want to keep all our collectors happy so please don't miss any of these dates. In order to be fair to collectors who send their redemptions on time, we will not be able to extend the deadlines in any of these programs.

Time is winding down until the release of the 10th Anniversary Edition of Between The Pipes.

May 3, 2012 is the date for the release of what will be the best Between The Pipes, ever.

The 200-card Base Card checklist has now been published on our website. As always it includes a great assortment of Future, Current and Former goaltenders.

The Non-Memorabilia Insert won’t disappoint either. Collect all 45 as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Between The Pipes and feature some of the greatest goaltenders of all-time along with the goalies who man the nets in today's game.

What’s a Decoy Card?
At In The Game we feel that Decoy Cards are important to protect the integrity of our foil-packed products.

To make Decoy Cards more valuable, many years ago we started our He Shoots – He Scores and He Shoots – He Saves Redemption Programs. So our Decoy Cards not only protect the integrity of our products but they also are valuable in obtaining additional Memorabilia Cards in these programs.

In Between The Pipes we added another little twist to our Decoy Cards. Each Card will have an image on its front. The images are also Puzzle Cards and when put into 9-pocket pages will create blow-ups of some of the great goalies in the product.

10th Anniversary Between The Pipes will feature many new insert sets and many standard insert sets from past products as well.

Each box will feature 5 Premium Foil Base Cards and Five Inserts (a combination of Game-Used Memorabilia Cards and Authentic Autograph Cards).

BASE CARDS

The 100-card Base Card set will feature captains from eight decades. Each card has been manufactured using premium foil, making it one of the most exciting base card sets ever.

This is the 8th year that we have produced Heroes and Prospects and we're proud of the fact that Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, John Tavares, Patrick Kane, Steven Stamkos, Evgeny Malkin and many more superstars had their first licensed card in Heroes and Prospects.

The game of hockey has seen some incredible legends take to the ice over the years, but there is an elite class of players that go even beyond that in the hearts of fans. One of those players is often simply referred to as Mr. Hockey - Gordie Howe.

In The Game is pleased to announce the long-awaited return of Howe to their products in 2012 and the company is excited to be able to feature him in their celebrated releases.

"It has been several years since Mr. Howe was prominently featured as part of In The Game's products and we are incredibly pleased to be working with him once again," said company President Dr. Brian Price. "Our working relationship goes back even farther than that and collectors will be pleased to have an opportunity to get more cards of one of hockey's greatest icons."

Howe was part of the first modern era hockey card set from Parkhurst back in 1951-52 and his cards have been highly sought-after ever since. During the 1991-92 season, Dr. Price began working as a sub-licensor under Pro Set and brought back the legendary Parkhurst trading card brand to modern collectors. This extremely popular series not only featured the top stars of the day but also had a special insert set which prominently featured Mr. Howe. At the time, inserts were a relatively new concept with collectors and it was fitting that one of the game's greatest players be a part of it.

Over the following years, Dr. Price featured Howe in a number of products including collector favorites like the Parkhurst Missing Link. These sets were made up entirely of retired players and paved the way for modern releases, which celebrate the past. Howe was last a part of the In The Game family in 2001-02 and his return to In The Game will allow collectors to obtain all-new cards that celebrate his monumental contributions to the sport.

Howe was born in Floral, Saskatchewan on March 31, 1928 and joined the Detroit Red Wings as an 18-year-old for the 1946-47 season. He quickly became one of the NHL's top stars and led his club to four Stanley Cup championships in the 1950s. Over 25 seasons in the Motor City, Gordie became the league's all-time leader in games played, goals, assists and points before retiring for the first time at the end of the 1970-71 campaign. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame soon after.

After two seasons on the sidelines, Howe returned to action with the Houston Aeros of the World Hockey Association and played alongside two of his sons, Mark and Marty. Over the course of six WHA campaigns, the trio ranked among hockey's biggest stars and he continued to put up strong numbers. They signed with the New England Whalers in 1977 and went back to the NHL two years later as members of the expansion Hartford Whalers. The 1979-80 season was his last but he would skate in his final NHL All-Star Game and made a memorable return to Detroit to score his 801st and final regular season goal on April 6, 1980.

Despite retiring soon after, Howe was still active in the hockey world and once the sports memorabilia industry took off, he became a popular show guest. In 1997-98, he became the first player to skate in a professional game in six different decades when he took to the ice with the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League. In 2008, he became the first person to be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the NHL. Adored by fans everywhere, his career is spoken of in reverent tones for being a complete player that could score, lead and play without fear.

Collectors can expect to find autograph and game-used memorabilia cards of Howe in many of the products that are part of In The Game's 2012 lineup starting with Heroes and Prospects, which releases on February 23.

Captaion-C: Preliminary Information

The role of the captain on a hockey team extends far past the ice and the person that wears the "C" is usually the leader in the dressing room as well. They bring the team up when they are facing defeat. They shoulder most of the blame whenever the other side wins. Those with this heavy responsibility are often ranked among the game's greatest players and many of them will be found in box of Captain-C from In The Game.

Releasing in March, 2012, Captain-C is a fitting tribute to those whose loyalties are proudly displayed on their chests. Each box will contain 10 cards and five of them will be Premium Foil Base Cards featuring 100 great leaders from throughout hockey history.

The other five cards in the box will be a mix of Autographs and Game-Used Memorabilia. Like with most products from In The Game, these hits will be produced in limited quantities and have both Gold and Silver versions. Look for autographs of such notable leaders as Dave Keon, Bobby Clarke, Jean Beliveau and Roberto Luongo!

We have just completed a great new addition to the Enforcers product, the Tough Patch cards. Large pieces of game-used jerseys from many of the players in this product. These 1/1's will be really "tough" to collect.

2011-2012 Heroes & Prospects - Preliminary Info

In The Game unveiled Heroes and Prospects during the 2004-05 season and it has become an annual hobby tradition that is set to enter its eighth straight year in 2011-12. Featuring the brightest prospects from the AHL and CHL along with legends from hockey's past and present, In The Game is in the process of putting together what we hope will be another winner!

This year, Heroes and Prospect will once again have a loaded base set and it is made up of 200 cards. It all begins with the Heroes subset that includes legends like Red Kelly, Mike Gartner and Tony Amonte and there are also be several International Prospects in the lineup as well. Many drafted prospects from the OHL, QMJHL and WHL are part of the CHL subset along with many youngsters who have a shot at being selected in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. On the AHL side, look for players who were among the league's top freshmen in 2010-11 like Luke Adam, Nazem Kadri and Robin Lehner.

For the third year in a row, Heroes and Prospects will also include AHL and CHL rookies as part of their base set. Look for hot young CHL talents like Max Domi, Mikhail Grigorenko and Curtis Lazar along with first-year pros like Carter Ashton, Zack Kassian and Andy Miele that are tearing up the AHL. Returning to to the base set in 2011-12 are the AHL and CHL Grads which looks back on many of today's hottest stars during their early days in the sport. Rounding out the base set are special Tribute cards which recognize the accomplishments of five players that the game has lost in recent years.

Autographs have been a staple of Heroes and Prospects since the start and this season's release is loaded up with signatures from many players who are sure to make an impact over the next few years. Look for some awesome certified signatures from promising talents like Griffin Reinhart and Sean Couturier in addition to shortprinted autographs from the Heroes and many CHL and AHL Grads. In The Game is also pleased to offer signatures from three of the players from the Tribute subset and they are sure to be cherished collectibles.

The lineup of Game-Used Memorabilia cards for this season is still in the development stages, but that doesn't mean that we can't leak a few details at this time. As always, look for Game-Used Jersey, Number and Emblem cards along with Autograph versions plus collector favorites like the ever-popular Complete Logo, SUBWAY Super Series and CHL Top Prospects Game sets.

Non-memorabilia inserts will also be a big part of this year's release and you can count on the annual Calder Cup and Memorial Cup Champions in addition to some new concepts that are sure to turn some heads.

Probert Epitomizes ITG Enforcers

Bob Probert was as tough as any player who ever laced on a pair of skates. He had an outstanding career playing 935 games over 16 seasons for Chicago and Detroit and accumulating 3300 penalty minutes including 231 fights. His battles on the ice against Wendel Clark, Link Gaetz, Stu Grimson and Tie Domi were legendary. Everyone has their own favorite Bob Probert fight. Bob Probert will headline the checklist of players featured in In The Game’s – Enforcers. We will even have limited numbers of Probert autograph cards with Chicago, Detroit and dual autograph cards of some of his greatest battles. Bob Probert epitomizes what our Enforcers product is all about.

Each pack of Enforcers will contain five authentic autographs. There will be over 80 different Enforcers on the authentic autograph checklist including; Dave Semenko, Joey Kocur, Georges Laraque, Dave Manson, Basil McRae, Rob Ray, Marty McSorley, Brad May, Jim Kyte, Chris Nilan, and many, many more.

Each pack of Enforcers will contain two authentic game-used memorabilia cards. There are several different insert sets; Instigators, Dual Combatants, Quad Tough Franchise, Fight Straps, 1/1 Fight Strap Dome Fastener cards, 1/1 Enforcer Nameplates. The checklist includes Stu Grimson, Wendel Clark, Kelly Chase, Enrico Ciccone, Lyle Odelein, Gino Odjik, Jeff Odgers, Terry O’Reilly, Bob Nystrom, Clark Gilles and many, many more.

Each pack of Enforcers will contain five Base Cards. There will be four different subsets; Tale of the Tape, Record Holders, Bloody Battles and Tough Franchises in the 90 card Non-Memorabilia Insert checklist.

Enforcers - A tough set to collect

In The Game will be starting the New Year with a tough act to follow, Enforcers.

A product dedicated to hockey's tough guys, the players that open up the ice for the superstars.

Enforcers will be released mid-January and due to a small production run, it might be as tough to find as it will be to collect. In The Game does not put redemption cards in their products for autographs, so the checklist will be announced prior to release date as the autographs are received.

Count these five Enforcers in:

Wendel Clark - a fan favorite from the start in Toronto, Clark exhibited a great deal of toughness and played every game like it was his last. The opposition never wanted to mess with him because they knew he wasn't about to back down from anyone.

Stan Jonathan - while he wasn't anywhere near being the biggest member of any team he played on, it could be argued that Jonathan had the biggest heart of them all. His memorable tussle with the much-larger Pierre Bouchard of the Montreal Canadiens is still shown to this day as he unleashed a flurry of punches that brought down the big defender.

Joe Kocur - the Detroit Red Wings were loaded with tough and talented players in the 1980s and Kocur proved to be among the game's elite enforcers. He paced all players with 377 penalty minutes in 1985-86 and is a three-time Stanley Cup champion!

Jimmy Mann - when John Ferguson was rebuilding the Winnipeg Jets after the death of the World Hockey Association, one of his key building blocks was Mann, who he selected in the first round of the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. He was an instant hit at the pro level as he led the league in penalty minutes during his rookie season of 1979-80.

Dave Semenko - if Semenko had never played for the Edmonton Oilers, opposing teams might have run over players like Wayne Gretzky and Jari Kurri, so it was his job to ensure that the offensive dynamos around him were protected. Considering that he once stepped into the ring to fight Muhammad Ali in an exhibition bout, there is little doubt in regard to his overall toughness and athleticism.

We are also pleased to reveal two more exciting game-used memorabilia insert sets. The first is what you would expect from Enforcers, game-used Fight Straps. Each Fight Strap card will be numbered out of 8.

The next game-used memorabilia insert set will be a 1/1 Fight Strap Dome Fastener. On each card the piece of memorabilia will come right through the card (front to back). We've never done this before.

These two insert sets join the three others that have been announced in a previous Blog; Instigators, Combatants and Tough Franchise. Enforcers will be a real hockey fan's product. It's not the same top 50 players that are put in product after product. Enforcers is going to be a tough set to collect, but it will be worth the effort.

Enforcers from In The Game will be the toughest set to collect in the history of hockey trading cards.

Just the thought of Schultz, McSorley, Twist, Brashear in action scares the heck out of me.

Fighting in hockey is as old and important as the blueline. It's the one event in a game that always brings the crowd to its feet and Enforcers will celebrate the blue-collar players who toil in the trenches and work to give the stars more skating room.

How many goals would Gretzky have without Semenko? Each box of Enforcers will feature 5 autograph cards, that's right 5 autograph cards of some very tough customers.

Also included in each box will be 2 game-used memorabilia cards. Featuring the following insert sets; Instigator, Combatants (Dual), Fight Strap (1/8) Fight Strap (1/1 - big surprise), Tough Franchise (Quad).

Each box of Enforcers also will contain 5 limited base cards. Subsets of the base card set include; Record Holders,Tale of the Tape, Bloody Battles and Tough Franchise.

That's right 12 cards per box. This product will be hand-packed by In The Game to insure that each box contains the exact number of cards noted above. There are no redemptions to wait for or substitutions to accept, just the toughest hockey card set ever.

This product will be limited and allocations to distributors will be based on pre-orders. Contact your distributor or your local card shop to let them know that you have dropped your gloves and will be collecting Enforcers by In The Game.

1997 NHL All-Star Game Brett Hull Western Conference Jersey

Hull was a starter for the Western Conference at the 1997 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose and this jersey is loaded with colorful patches. He earned one assist that night but the lucky recipient will get to see that the Hall of Famer also autographed it on the inside!

2000-01 Jarome Iginla Calgary Flames Jersey

The only one of this now-retired "Horse Head" style that Jarome wore in 2000-01. Iginla cracked the 30-goal and 70-point mark for the first time that season. Featuring the Atlanta Flames style "A" and lots of wear, this jersey looks like it has been through some epic battles.

2005-06 Jason Spezza Ottawa Senators Jersey

At the beginning of the 2005-06 season, the NHL had players wear jerseys with a special patch that were eventually sold to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. In The Game acquired one of these historic red sweaters, worn by Spezza.

2002-03 Daniel Alfredsson Ottawa Senators Jersey

Alfredsson wore this red Senators jersey for preseason action prior to the 2002-03 campaign and it is a fitting #11 for the Ultimate Memorabilia 11th Edition. Featuring the captain's "C", it also has a nice puck mark on the face of the Senators logo.

1999-00 Teemu Selanne Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Jersey

Selanne scored 85 points for the Mighty Ducks in 1999-00 and the ageless wonder wore this jersey during home games that year. Some of the most outstanding features on this sweater are the NHL 2000 patch and an "A" on the left shoulder. There are also several places where you can see puck marks and other wear.

1992-93 Curtis Joseph St. Louis Blues Jersey

Featuring the Stanley Cup centennial patch during the 1992-93 season, this Joseph white jersey looks as if it has been through a war on the ice. It has great character due to puck marks and piling on the front and is from the team's second set from that year.

2004 NHL All-Star Game Shane Doan Western Conference Jersey

The 2004 NHL All-Star Game was held in Minnesota and Doan was a member of the Western Conference squad that year. This style of jersey was only worn in one mid-season Classic and features felt accents on front. It was also signed on the back by the longtime captain of the Phoenix Coyotes.

2001-02 Gillian Apps Team Canada

Apps wore this striking red Team Canada jersey in the games leading up to the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City. There is some light game wear on this sweater and it could be a fine addition to the collection of one lucky collector.

Luc Robitaille Los Angeles Kings Helmet

This circa 1993-94 CCM helmet looks like it has been through many road battles and the lucky winner will be surprised to see some small blood stains inside! It still includes the original ITECH visor and Robitaille's number 20 can be found on the back.

Dany Heatley Game-Used Stick

Danny Heatley used this Bauer Tri Flex stick early in his NHL career with the Atlanta Thrashers. Boldly signed by the 2001-02 Calder Trophy winner, it is a one-piece composite and shows plenty of evidence of game use.

ITG Fall Expo Plans Revealed - November 11-13 2011

In The GameLand will be the place to be during the Fall Expo. Fun for young and old from the beginning of the Expo to the end, In The GameLand will be the place to be.

In The Game Wrapper Redemption Program

UM-11, Canadiana and Canada vs the World products will be redeemed at the Fall Expo.

There will also be a redemption program for specially packaged boxes of Decades The 80s (see below).

Collectors opening a pack of UM-11 will receive a UM-11 Quad Franchise game-used memorabilia card. There will be 45 different cards with 25 of each silver version and 5 of each gold version. Each card will be serially numbered and slabbed in an In The Game Ultimate holder. More details including a complete checklist will be available soon.

In The Game will also be producing one-of-one versions of game-used memorabilia cards from Canadiana and Canada vs the World that bears a special foil stamp exclusive to the Fall Expo. In order to obtain one of these special cards, collectors will need to open one sealed Hobby box of either product at In The Gameland during redemption hours.

Decades Special Redemption

Specially marked boxes of Decades – The 80s will be on sale at dealer tables at the Fall Expo. If you purchase one of these boxes you will be given a Decades redemption ticket.

Present this ticket when break your specially marked Decades box and you will receive a Toronto Maple Leafs Decade redemption card. Each card is a quad game-used memorabilia card.

In addition, your ticket entitles you to a Wendel Clark autograph. Wendel will be at In The GameLand on Sunday (time to be announced) to sign autographs. The only way to obtain a Wendel Clark autograph is to present the ticket from the specially marked Decades Box.

Expo show dealers should contact their distributor to order boxes. Only specially marked boxes of Decades will be redeemed at the Fall Expo.

CloutsnChara Pack Poker Tournament

Clouts n Chara will be hosting an Ultimate pack poker tournament. There will be 32 entrants and a winner will be determined on Sunday. The winner will receive a Mammoth Made To Order card, the largest trading card ever made.

What do these two cards have in common?

Ultimate Memorabilia 11th Edition - HOT PACKS Checklist

Each 10-box case of UM-11 will contain and randomly inserted Hot Pack. Each Hot Pack will contain three UM-11 Hot Patch cards limited to four of each Vintage Players and nine of each non-Vintage Player. There are 56 different Hot Patch cards in UM-11. In 2000-01, In The Game made hobby history with the first edition of Ultimate Memorabilia and over the years, it has become an industry staple that keeps getting better with time.

The Ultimate Memorabilia 11th Edition is set to continue this tradition and releases on November 10, 2011. Each pack will once again contain one limited Ultimate Base card, one Ultimate Autograph card and one Ultimate Authentic Game-used Memorabilia card.

Ultimate Memorabilia offers up a highly-desired base set and this year's edition gives collectors a fresh new perspective on 100 of hockey's greatest players by featuring the artwork of well-known sports artist Mike James. The Silver version of the base cards are limited to either 63 or 64 copies along with a Gold parallel out of nine. In The Game is also taking base sets to a new level by offering a black-bordered edition that has the original sketch embedded into the card!

Game-used memorabilia has always been the foundation of the Ultimate product and In The Game offers up some exciting new concepts along with many old favorites. New sets for the 11th edition include History of the Franchise in the Net, FantaSTICK along with Boys Are Back, which is a tribute to some of the greatest players to ever skate for the original Winnipeg Jets franchise. Also new for 2011-12 are sets like Ultimate Rivalry and Cup Finals which feature a whopping six pieces of memorabilia on every card!

Ultimate Memorabilia 11th Edition Base Card Checklist & Ultimate Giveaway

Silver Version Gold Version Original Artist Version

UM-11 Base Cards feature the art of well-known sports artist Mike James. There are 100 cards in the Base Card checklist. Each card will have silver and gold versions. The silver version will be out of 63 or 64, the gold version will be out of 9.

There will also be 1/1 original art Base Cards featuring the original art of Mike James. These cards will have a black border. Visit the UM-11 product page to view the Base Card Checklist

In random packs of UM-11, the silver Base Card will be replaced by an Ultimate Giveaway Card.

Randomly inserted into packs of UM-11, collectors can find Ultimate Giveaway cards. These cards will be inserted to replace the base card of the pack in which they are found.

For example there are six different Ultimate Giveaway cards depicting a game-used Brett Hull San Jose All-Star game-used jersey, each one of the six cards is a different color.

Each Ultimate Giveaway card qualifies you to win an authentic piece of game-used memorabilia from In The Game.

In order to qualify for the “Spin To Win” event at the Spring Expo in Toronto, all Ultimate Giveaway Cards must be received by In The Game no later than April 15, 2012.

Spin To Win Event

At the Spring Expo in Toronto in the In The Gameland booth, we will spin our In The Game wheel to see who wins the game-used memorabilia. If the color on the wheel matches the card you submit, you will receive the game-used memorabilia.

We will continue to spin the In The Game wheel until a winner is declared from the Ultimate Giveaway Cards registered by April 15, 2012. All authentic game-used memorabilia will be given away at the Spring Expo.

Cards Received After April 15, 2012

All Ultimate Giveaway Cards received after April 15, 2012 will receive a 1/1 Sketch Card of the player whose memorabilia is depicted on your card. The border of your 1/1 Sketch Card will match the color of your Ultimate Giveaway Card.

In addition, all those who don’t win the authentic memorabilia at the Spring Expo-Spin to Win will receive 1/1 Sketch Cards.

Questions about the Ultimate Giveaway

What to do if you pull an Ultimate Giveaway card?

If you pull an Ultimate Giveaway card you should send it along with your complete address, email address and telephone number to either of the two address on the customer service page.

What if I pull an Ultimate Giveaway card but I am not able to attend the Spring Expo?

As long as your card is registered before April 15, 2012 you will be qualified to enter the "Spin To Win" event. If you are unable to attend the Spring Expo and you win we will notify you and determine the best way to get you your Ultimate Giveaway.

What if my Ultimate Giveaway card is not the winner?

There are no losers in this program. Anyone whose Ultimate Giveaway card is not chosen will receive a 1/1 original sketch of the player whose card they sent in.

What if I receive an Ultimate Giveaway card after the 2012 Spring Expo.

Even though all the authentic game-used memorabilia will already have been awarded, you still qualify for a 1/1 original sketch of the player whose card you have.

On October 6, 2011, In The Game will be releasing Canada vs. The World an International hockey card product that will thrill collectors.

Canada has a very proud history in International competition but the Summit Series of 1972 showed Canadians that hockey is an International sport. From that tournament on, the competition in International hockey has been fierce.

The game of hockey suffered a major loss on August 31, 2011 as it was announced that former NHL player Wade Belak had passed away at the age of 35. Known as one of the game's toughest performers during his pro career, he will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

"On behalf of all of our staff, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Wade during this difficult time." said In The Game's President, Dr. Brian H. Price. "He had a solid reputation as one of hockey's tough customers and one of hockey's nicest guys. We were incredibly pleased when, only last month, Wade joined the In The Game team to be part of our upcoming Enforcers product."

Wade Belak was born July 3, 1976 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. At the age of six, his family moved to Battleford, Saskatchewan where he would attend St. Vital Elementary School.

At Battleford Junior High, he was showing signs of becoming a great athlete and participated in several sports including volleyball, track and field, badminton and basketball.

After school, he spent his time at the local swimming pool and ice hockey arena. At age 14, he was on his way to becoming a certified lifeguard; however, hockey was his priority. At the time, he played competitive hockey at the AA level.

After playing with the AAA Midget North Stars the next year, he was selected by the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. He attended his first Blades training camp and made the team; however, Belak felt that he was not experienced enough for the WHL and decided to play another season at the AAA level with the Midget North Stars.

This proved to be a great decision for Belak as he enhanced his skills and developed into a better hockey player. The following season, he rejoined the Blades and had an incredible rookie season as they faced the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL Finals, only to lose in seven games.

In the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, Belak was selected 12th overall by the Quebec Nordiques. He chose to play two more seasons with Saskatoon before he joined Quebec's American Hockey League farm team, the Cornwall Aces. After the club relocated to Hershey, he played for the Bears for two seasons and was part of a Calder Cup-winning team.

On December 21, 1996, Belak was called up by the Colorado Avalanche and played his first NHL game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He began the 1997-1998 season with Colorado and recorded his first two NHL points, a goal and an assist, on October 22, 1997 against the Washington Capitals.

Late in the 1998-99 season, he was involved in a blockbuster trade involving the Calgary Flames. The Flames received Belak, along with his teammates Rene Corbet and Robyn Regehr plus a conditional draft pick in exchange for Chris Dingman and Theoren Fleury.

He became a member of the Calgary Flames on March 27th, 1999 and he would register his first point (an assist) as a member of the Flames on April 1, 1999 against the Phoenix Coyotes.

In the 1999-00 season was filled with excitement for Belak as he began the season with the AHL's Saint John Flames. He was eventually called up and played 40 games with Calgary. Even though he saw limited action, he led the team in penalty minutes (122) and also averaged 7:33 minutes of ice time that season.

After playing 23 games with the Flames during the 2000-2001 campaign, he was placed on waivers and picked up by the Maple Leafs. His Toronto debut came on February 17, 2001.

Belak had a successful 2001-2002 season as he finished second on the team in penalty minutes (142) and set a career high in games played (63) along with playing his first NHL playoff game against the New York Islanders. In that series, he scored his first career playoff goal. His momentum continued in 2002-2003 and he led the Maple Leafs in penalty minutes (196) while setting career highs in goals, assists, points, and penalty minutes. The 2003-2004 season was filled with disappointment as he missed a total of 38 games due to injury in addition to being suspended for eight games for a high-sticking incident.

During the NHL lockout that canceled the 2004-05 season, Belak decided to play in Europe for the Coventry Blaze in the Elite Ice Hockey League. He suited up for a total of 42 games and chipped in 17 points and also added a physical presence by racking up 178 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he added a goal and an assist and sixteen penalty minutes to help lead the Blaze to a grand slam title.

In preparation for the 2005-2006 NHL season, Belak signed a two-year contract with the Maple Leafs. He suffered through two disappointing seasons with nagging injuries and eventually was traded to the Florida Panthers. He spent two injury-plagued seasons there and was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2008-09.

Nashville was Belak's final NHL team. After playing in 15 games during the 2010-11 season, he was placed on waivers on February 25, 2011. Going unclaimed, he was assigned to the Nashville's AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, but decided to retire instead and remained with the Predators in an organizational role.

In his personal life, he married Jennifer Jordan Russell in 2002. The couple has two wonderful daughters; Andie Marie and Alex Grace.

2011-12 Plans Starting To Take Shape

The 2011-12 season is almost upon us and In The Game is ready to announce our first two products. Canada vs. The World

In October, In The Game will be releasing Canada vs. The World and International hockey card product that will thrill collectors.

Each box of Canada vs The World will contain 9 cards. 4 Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia Cards, 2 Authentic Autographs, 1 100 Years of Hockey Card Collecting Card and 2 Non-Memorabilia Inserts.

The Authentic Autograph Cards include a who's who of players who wore the Canadian flag on their jerseys along with many of the players they played against for gold.

Thornton, Savard, Sakic, Nieuwendyk, Niedermayer, Nash, Roy, Luongo, Robinson, Robitaille, Esposito, Messier, Joseph, MacInnis and many more versus LaFontaine, Krutov, Koivu, Granato, Hedberg, Hasek, Kurri, Tretiak, Amonte, Craig, Chara and many, many more.

UM-11

The tradition continues for the eleventh straight year. Ultimate Memorabilia 11^th Edition. The "original" Ultimate.

There will be some new concepts in the product along with some of the original ideas that made Ultimate Memorabilia so collectible.

Here's a sneak preview of some of the Authentic Game-Used Memorabilia Cards.

Where There Were Six inserts feature six pieces of game-used memorabilia of players from the Original Six era.

Cup Finals is another insert set that will feature six pieces of authentic memorabilia. Each card will feature three pieces from each of the teams that faced off for the Stanley Cup

Another six-piece authentic memorabilia insert will be Decades. These cards feature memorabilia of six players from one decade.

As you can tell, all the stops have been taken out to make UM-11 the best Ultimate ever!

Here Come Those Crazy Canucks

Do good things always come to those who wait? Yes, in the case of In The Game-Canadiana that is doubly true.

While waiting for some autographs to be returned from Europe, Dr. Price's son-in-law had house-guests while visiting Canada. During diner Dr. Price popped the question, "would the two of you like to be in Canadiana?"

Yes they both replied and now collectors will be able to find authentic Autograph Cards of Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida in our product, two Canadian music icons.

While collectors are waiting for the release of this product, Dr. Price upped the ante by putting three inserts in each box instead of the advertised two.

Each pack will contain NINE cards, one Canadiana Autograph Card, one Canadiana Memorabilia Card, six Canadiana Premium Base Cards plus one additional insert!

Canadiana Autograph Cards

Canadiana is a great product for autograph collectors. There are three different autograph inserts sets; Cut Signatures, Between The Seams and Canadiana Autographs.

The Cut Signature checklist is simply outstanding, featuring such hard to find autographs as; Alexander Graham Bell, James Naismith, Charles Best, Billy Bishop, Gilles Villeneuve, Guy Lombardo, George Knudsen, Louis St. Laurent, Mack Sennett, Roderick L.
