In The Game announces the winner of the Favorite Parkhurst Design ContestThe results are in and the winning set design is the original "Parkie" the '51-'52 design. Known fondly as the "Granddaddy" of hockey trading cards the simplistic design still seems to be the favorite with collectors more than fifty years later. The winning collector who voted for the '51-'52 design is Carlo Cecconi of Unionville, Ontario. When contacted by e-mail, Carol replied: "Dear Be A Player, Thank you very much. I was thrilled to discover your message. I enjoy collecting cards and memorabilia. These last few years I have also enjoyed meeting and getting autographs from former athletes especially at the Sportscard Expo. I, like so many others, collected and played with the cards of the sixties. Sadly those oldies are long gone. I did manage to pick up three of those 1951-52 Parkies, and since I was born in 1952 I was thrilled to have had the opportunity to vote for them. I'm also glad that my kids who are teenagers also enjoy collecting. Thanks again."
