Be A Player announces the Ultimate Interactive Card - "Made to Order"!

(Toronto; April 2, 2002) In the Game, Inc., the manufacturer of the Be A Player and Parkhurst brands of hockey trading cards is pleased to announce its latest in a long line of hockey trading card innovations. The concept, and the card is entitled "Made to Order" and it's safe to say the hobby hasn't seen anything like it.

Made to Order Inserts will be found in the 2002 Ultimate Memorabilia 2nd Edition (slated for release in May). There will be 10 Made to Order Redemption cards in the Ultimate Memorabilia and each can be redeemed for a special one-of-a-kind memorabilia card, and when we say one of a kind, we mean one of a kind. This is not a one-card subset with multiple copies printed. This is one card with a print run of one.

Here is how it works. The lucky collector who pulls a Made to Order redemption card will be entitled to a special custom-made memorabilia card that is truly one of a kind. The collector will be instructed to visit our website at www.baptradingcards.com and refer to a list of 50 different players. The collector may then choose which player he wants a memorabilia card of. In the Game will then manufacture this card specifically for that collector.

"I've been in this business for quite a while," says In the Game President Dr. Brian H. Price, "and I pride myself and my company as being an innovative force in the hobby. This is yet another in a series of steps we've taken throughout the years to provide hobbyists with something unique and exciting. What makes this special is the level of interactivity. Yes, there are lots of one-of-one cards on the market but nobody has ever enjoyed the honor of choosing which player they would like featured on a card and then having a manufacturer produce it for them.

"This is crowded and highly competitive market and we're always trying to stay one step ahead of the other card companies. Some of our other innovations have been copied but I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The Made to Order card, though, just may be our greatest idea yet."

The Ultimate Memorabilia 2nd Edition will consist of more than 40 different subsets featuring nearly 900 different game-worn memorabilia cards. The greatest players in the history of the game will be highlighted including current stars such as Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Steve Yzerman and rookie sensation Ilya Kovalchuk along with retired legends Maurice Richard, Terry Sawchuk, Wayne Gretzky and the one and only Mr. Hockey®.

Every card in Ultimate Memorabilia 2nd Edition will be professionally graded and slabbed by Beckett Grading Services. The production run will not exceed 50 copies for any of the subsets. In fact, the production runs for many of the subsets will be significantly lower than 50. Each card will be packaged in a black velvet pouch and there will be one card per pack.

In the Game has been producing Be A Player hockey cards since the 1998-99 season. The company's product lineup for 2001-02 features six brands including Be A Player Memorabilia (released August 2001), Parkhurst (released December 2001), Between the Pipes (released March 2002), Signature Series, the Ultimate Memorabilia 2nd Edition as well as the Update Series.
