Be A Player Announces Series I: The All-Star Series

In the Game, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of the 1998-99 Be A Player Trading Cards. This years' Be A Player promises to be the most exciting in the five year history of the Be A Player series.

The All-Star Series features 150 of the NHL's best. As is the custom with Be A Player, each player will autograph his own card in the regular silver foil version and the more limited parallel gold foil version. The All-Star Series will feature limited autographs of Paul Kariya, Teemu Selanne, Patrick Roy, Peter Forsberg, Sergei Fedorov, Wayne Gretzky, Mats Sundin, Eric Lindros to name a few.

None of the cards in this year's Be A Player edition can be called "regular". Every card will be a "super premium" card printed on a 30 pt stock and featuring a full foil treatment.

The All-Star Series will also include a die-cut subset of NHL Milestones which will include the league's current five hundred goal scorers and one thousand point achievers each featured on a stunning die-cut card.

The crowning touch for the 1998-99 Be A Player set will be the game-used memorabilia insert cards. The All-Star Series will include All-Star jersey cards from the game-worn jerseys of past All-Star games played in New York (1994), Boston (1995), San Jose (1997) and Vancouver (1998) and will feature players including: Eric Lindros, Jaromir Jagr, Patrick Roy, Wayne Gretzky, Mats Sundin, Peter Forsberg, Steve Yzerman and eighteen other NHL All-Stars. If that wasn't enough, the All-Star series will also include game-used stick cards from the 1998-99 season used by the superstars of the NHL.

Every pack is guaranteed to include either a Be A Player autograph card or a Be A Player game-used memorabilia card. This incredible series will be packaged 5 cards per pack and 12 packs per box. This product was introduced at the NHL All-Star game Fantasy in Tampa on January 20-24, 1999 and a complete release will take place on January 25th. The Be A Player All-Star series promises to redefine the term "Super Premium Trading Cards".

To ensure this will be the best Be A Player series to date, In the Game, Inc. has signed an agreement with Gordie Howe® to include jersey cards of one of Gordie's Detroit Red Wing game-used jerseys. Gordie will autograph each of these game-used jersey cards.
