In The Game is Alberta bound! Their show redemption program is coming to Edmonton for The Big One!(Toronto, ON; August 11, 2003): In The Game, Inc., the manufacturer of Be A Player and Parkhurst brands of hockey cards, is excited to announce it will be participating in "The Big One," the upcoming sports card and memorabilia show in Edmonton, Alberta. The show will take place at the Oasis Entertainment Hotel from September 26-28.For the first time ever, Alberta-based collectors will have an opportunity to participate in the company's always-popular show redemption program without leaving the province. The premise of the program is simple. Collectors who purchase specific In The Game, Be A Player and Parkhurst products at the show can open their packs and boxes at the In The Game booth. In exchange for the wrappers and boxes, they will receive unique and highly collectible foil-stamped cards. "Over the years, we've heard countless requests from collectors to bring our show redemption program to a show in their area," says Dr. Brian H. Price, President of In The Game. "We understand it isn't easy for many collectors to attend the high-profile shows across North America. That's why we feel it's important to reach out to certain regions, especially a hockey hotbed like Alberta. This show provides the perfect opportunity. Collectors in Alberta have always been big supporters of all of our products and we welcome the opportunity to meet them at the show" The program will feature special foil-stamped cards commemorating "The Big One". They will be sequentially numbered to 10 and are from the 600-card 2003-04 In The Game-Action base set. Special one-of-one variations of the non-memorabilia inserts from that brand will be randomly mixed in. Collectors will also have the option of receiving a one-of-one game-used memorabilia card from a selection of 240 different inserts in the In The Game-Action brand. These redemption cards feature all of today's biggest NHL stars as well as a wide selection of legends from the past. Eligible products for this show redemption program will include the brand new 2003-04 In The Game-Action Series, 2002-03 Ultimate Memorabilia 3rd Edition, 2002-03 Signature Series and 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro. No other brands will be eligible. In The Game's "show special" will reward those who purchase the 2003-04 In The Game-Action brand. Collectors will receive one redemption card (numbered to 10) per wrapper. Special one-of-one non-memorabilia insert cards will be randomly mixed in and available exclusively to those who open In The Game-Action packs. Collectors who open Ultimate Memorabilia 3rd Edition will receive 10 redemption cards per wrapper. Those who open 2002-03 Signature Series will get one card per wrapper while collectors who open Parkhurst Retro will receive one redemption card for every two wrappers. To receive a one-of-one game-used memorabilia card, show goers must open two boxes of 2003-04 In The Game-Action or two boxes of 2002-03 Signature Series. They will also receive a one-of-one memorabilia card for opening three boxes of Parkhurst Retro. Those who open a box of Ultimate Memorabilia 3rd Edition will receive two one-one memorabilia cards. All boxes must be opened at the same time and all wrappers must be submitted to In The Game personnel. Boxes MUST be shrink wrapped with the BAP logo on the boxes to qualify. The one-of-one memorabilia card offer also extends through all three days of the show. Those receiving one-of-one memorabilia cards will not be eligible for the traditional redemption cards numbered out of 10. "When it comes to hockey, the city of Edmonton has been the focal point of some of the game's greatest moments," says Price. "This show takes place on the brink of a new season and we will be there with a brand new set of cards. It's an ideal set of circumstances and we're excited to be a part of it."
