Be A Player Update Sets Are Loaded With Rookie Cards!
2002-03 Memorabilia Series Info
(Toronto, ON; March 28, 2003): In the Game, Inc., the manufacturer of Be A Player and Parkhurst brands of hockey cards, will be releasing three different Update sets this spring and collectors are enjoying the opportunity to load up on an impressive selection of new rookie cards.
First, collectors still have the opportunity to order their 100-card Memorabilia Series Update set. The 2002-03 Memorabilia Series was originally released in November 2002. Each pack included a special order/ballot card that could be completed and sent with a cheque for $29.95 (U.S. funds) or $44.95 (Canadian funds). In return, collectors will receive their Update set (numbered 301-400) consisting primarily of rookie cards with a sprinkling of high-profile veterans who have recently been traded. All the players featured on these rookie cards are unique from the 30 rookie cards included in the original set. These sets will be shipped in late May. Every collector who places an order will also be eligible for a draw in which the winner will receive a framed uncut sheet of all 100 Memorabilia Update cards. The other two Update sets are extensions to the 2002-03 Be A Player First Edition set. First Edition, which was issued in August 2002, was available in both a Hobby and a Retail version. The base set consisted of 425 cards. Card numbers 401-425 were comprised of a short-printed First Round Draft Pick subset. The 25 cards in the Hobby version were different from the 25 cards in the Retail version.
In each version, 10 of the 15 cards will be rookie cards. Each version will be numbered from 426-440. Each version will also include a "hobby" or "retail" designation to elininate confusion. The deadline for orders was March 31, 2003 and all sets will be shipped by April 15. Production quantities will be limited to the number of orders received. |
