Traditional redemption cards; One-of-one memorabilia cards; Exclusive Toronto Maple Leaf cards... In The Game records a hat trick at the 2003 Toronto Expo!(Toronto, ON; April 11, 2003): In The Game, Inc., the manufacturer of Be A Player and Parkhurst brands of hockey cards, is preparing for an annual rite of spring with their most extensive show redemption card program yet. Those fortunate enough to attend the Toronto Sportcard Expo at the International Centre from April 25 to 27 can acquire a wide array of unique cards that typically rank among the most collectible in the hobby. The lineup for the show includes special foil-stamped versions of Parkhurst, Between the Pipes, In the Game-Used and Parkhurst Retro base cards sequentially numbered to 10. Additional various parallel one-of-one versions will be mixed in. Collectors can also acquire special one-of-one game-used memorabilia cards, as well as special Toronto Maple Leaf cards created exclusively for this show. In The Game's booth is consistently the most popular location at any show they attend because collectors have enthusiastically embraced their redemption card offer. The premise of the program is simple. Collectors who purchase specific Be A Player and Parkhurst products at the show can open their packs and boxes at the In The Game booth. In exchange for the wrappers and boxes, they will receive these unique and highly collectible foil-stamped cards. "Our show redemption card program remains as effective as everŠ actually I would say it's more effective than ever," says In The Game's President, Dr. Brian H. Price. "We offer a great deal of value with these cards and more and more collectors are tuning into that fact so the response keeps getting better and better. And we can't help but feed off that enthusiasm by consistently upgrading the caliber of the program. I admit we have as much fun preparing for the programs as collectors have participating in them." Once again, the highlight at the Spring Expo will be the wide selection of game-used memorabilia cards, each of which will be foil-stamped with the 2003 Spring Expo show logo and numbered "1/1". More than 900 different one-of-one memorabilia cards will be specially created for this show. They are parallel versions of game-used memorabilia inserts found in 2002-03 Parkhurst, Between the Pipes, and In The Game-Used. All of the game's biggest names will be available including Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, and Steve Yzerman. To qualify for a one-of-one memorabilia card, collectors must open any combination of two factory-sealed boxes of 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro, Between the Pipes, Parkhurst, All-Star Edition, or Memorabilia Series. They will also receive a one-of-one memorabilia card by opening one box of 2002-03 In The Game-Used, or three boxes of 2002-03 First Edition (hobby or retail version). All boxes must be opened at the same time and all wrappers must be submitted to In The Game personnel. Boxes MUST be shrink wrapped with the BAP logo on the boxes to qualify. The one-of-one memorabilia card offer will extend through all three days of the show. Those receiving one-of-one memorabilia cards will not be eligible for the traditional redemption cards numbered out of 10. The traditional aspect of the redemption program remains as strong as ever. Featuring special foil-stamped cards sequentially numbered to 10 with a number of (non-memorabilia) one-of-ones randomly dispersed among them, collectors are assured of additional value, and plenty of interactive fun when they purchase Be A Player and Parkhurst cards. And, they may participate by buying as little as one pack of cards. Here is what collectors can look forward to. On Friday, April 25, In The Game will be offering specially stamped cards from the 2002-03 Parkhurst base set of 250 cards. These will be sequentially numbered to 10. Randomly mixed with these cards will be Silver one-of-one versions of all 250 cards. On Saturday, April 26, In The Game will offer specially stamped cards (numbered to 10) from the 2002-03 Between the Pipes base set of 150 cards. Randomly mixed in among these will be Silver one-of-one versions of the first 110 cards in the set, as well as specially stamped cards (numbered to 10) of all 30 The Mask II Dufex inserts. In The Game will also offer specially stamped cards (numbered to 10) of all 200 base cards from the In The Game-Used base set. To add even more pizzazz, the 100 Dufex cards from the In The Game-Used base set will be a special Silver version not found in packs. On Sunday, April 27, In the Game will offer specially stamped cards (numbered to 10) from the newly released 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro base set of 250 cards.
The following In The Game products will qualify for the traditional show redemption program:
Again, those who receive our traditional redemption cards will not be eligible for the one-of-one memorabilia cards. With the exception of Ultimate Memorabilia Second Edition, Be A Player and Parkhurst products released before 2002-03 will not be eligible for this promotion. Last, but certainly not least, In The Game is offering a special 30-card series featuring Toronto Maple Leaf greats from the past and present. These cards have been created specifically for the Spring Expo and feature everyone from Mats Sundin and Ed Belfour to Johnny Bower and King Clancy. They will be foil-stamped with the show logo and sequentially numbered to 30. Collectors can acquire one of these cards for each box of 2002-03 Parkhurst Retro they open at the In The Game booth. These boxes must be factory sealed and collectors must submit all wrappers to In The Game personnel. Best of all, the Maple Leaf cards will be offered in conjunction with other show redemption cards. If a collector is opening two boxes of Retro to receive a one-of-one memorabilia card, they will also receive two Maple Leaf cards. If a collector is opening one box of Retro to receive the traditional show redemption cards, they will also receive one Maple Leaf card. "The city of Toronto demonstrates a passion for the Maple Leafs that is unparalleled," says Price, "so the decision to offer additional redemption cards with a Maple Leaf theme at this show was a no-brainer. And it ties in nicely with the release of our newest brand of cards, Parkhurst Retro. Put it all together, and this truly does add up to a celebration of hockey and hockey card collecting." |
