TO OUR VIP'S... THANK YOU!In The Game's VIP Series One is now SOLD OUT!When we launched our VIP program earlier this season, one of our first offerings to VIP members was the exclusive VIP Series One product. It was the first trading card release of its' kind and it was also the most limited series of cards ever produced. Each VIP Series One trading card was a game-used memorabilia card. Each featured elegant designs, an impeccable player selection highlighting both today's superstars and yesterday's legends, and an unbeatable array of high-caliber memorabilia. Production quantities were extremely limited with no card exceeding a total of 50 copies. Each card was encased in a sleek tin together with one of 35 different tin liners. These liners were also highly collectible. Each featured a "collage" of photos devoted to an all-time great along with year-by-year statistics and a list of career highlights. A total of 18 of these collages were also available in autographed versions, a feature that was especially popular with hobbyists. There were 50 signed copies of most, but Martin Brodeur, Steve Yzerman and Dominik Hasek each only signed 20 copies. A total of 6,000 tins were produced. "This product marked a departure from the norm," explained In The Game President Dr. Brian H. Price. "Our goal was to develop something innovative and classy and what better group of hobbyists to present this to than members of our new VIP club. Now we have a solid foundation on which to build. Our VIPs have only seen the beginning." There were a total of 12 different subsets included in VIP Series One. Among the subsets that were especially noteworthy were Mighty Mario, a 10-card tribute to Mario Lemieux featuring anywhere from one to four pieces of his game-used memorabilia. The Autographed Game-Used Jersey series was also very popular because it combined a game-used swatch together with the player's signature. The Vintage Memorabilia series presented some of history's most alluring NHL personalities including Georges Vezina and Bill Barilko. Other subsets in the product were Game-Used Jersey, Jersey and Number, Jersey and Emblem, International Experience, Netminders, Sophomores, MVP, Making the Bigs, and Brightest Stars. All ranked as some of the most attractive hockey cards ever made. In The Game, Inc. wants to thank all the collectors who participated in this program and who made it a huge success. |
