In The Game Celebrates a Decade of Heroes & Prospects

Over the past 10 seasons, hobbyists have fervently supported In The Game's Heroes & Prospects brand and with each passing year, the product keeps getting better. Featuring many of the game's greatest Heroes and the hottest prospects in hockey, each release has been loaded with exciting cards that have been well-received by collectors since the start.

"It's hard to believe that Heroes & Prospects is coming into its 10th season," said In The Game's President, Dr. Brian Price. "The brand came about as a response to the NHLPA taking away the licenses of all but one company and it truly filled a need for collectors that was not being met. I am proud of its overwhelming success and believe that this anniversary edition will be a hit due to the inclusion of some of the best cards we have ever produced for the brand."

The action starts with an exciting 199-card base set which features many of the CHL's top young talents along with lavishly illustrated hockey legends and many of the best international prospects in the world today. For the second year in a row, the last 49 cards will feature the biggest prospects for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft and the Class of 2014 is loaded with future stars such as Sam Reinhart, Aaron Ekblad and William Nylander. Seeded twice per box on average, putting a full set together will once again be a rewarding challenge for dedicated hobbyists.

With the 2013-14 season marking an important milestone for Heroes & Prospect, it was only natural that In The Game changed up their non-memorabilia insert program this year. The 10th Anniversary Tribute cards take the original design from the 2004-05 set and feature contemporary prospects in a 45-card set that is sure to be a hit with those that love In The Game's original effort. While that first release featured modern stars such as Corey Perry, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin, it gets an update with players like Connor McDavid, Sean Day and Aleksander Barkov.

One of the brand's staples since the start has been a phenomenal selection of Autograph cards and this season carries on that tradition. Found once in every seven packs on average, there is once again a wide variety of signatures to add to your collection. In The Game has also added some very limited Dual Autograph cards entitled Father & Son which are expected to be popular with combinations such as Paul & Sam Reinhart and William & Mikael Nylander.

Naturally, game-used memorabilia cards will be plentiful in Heroes & Prospects this season and In The Game has decided to celebrate by offering a special 10th Anniversary collection that are seeded over and above the normal overall rate. Featuring 100 of the best players that have been a part of the brand over the years, this tiered collection will provide a nice challenge for those that wish to put a set together.

The rest of the game-used lineup is stellar as usual with tried-and-true favorites like Game-Used Jersey, Game-Used Patch, Dual Jersey and Quad Jersey. As in past years, jerseys from major events like the SUBWAY Super Series and the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will be available and feature both Jersey and Patch variants. There are plenty of Auto & Jersey cards to be found as well - and In The Game has gone to great lengths to ensure that many of the best prospects around are featured on these limited cards.

There are also some amazing hits to be found in packs. There will be more Complete Logo cards than ever this season and there is also the potential to uncover Nameplates, Autothreads and the all-new Hero Complete Package cards. The He Shoots-He Scores Redemption Program will return once again as well and each decoy card makes up part of one of 11 different nine-card puzzles.

The 2013-14 edition of Heroes & Prospects is expected to hit hobby store shelves in January, 2014.
