This year's series will be the best yet. There will be a total of 300 players in the base set and 250 players in the autograph set (both silver and gold autographs). Fifty Rookie cards in the base set will be short-printed and individually number in addition. fifty of the cards in the autograph set will be limited.

The series will also feature some great inserts. Game-used jersey cards, game-used stick and jersey cards, game-used emblem cards and game-used numbers cards will be featured. A special insert- "Department of Defense" will feature the game-used jersey cards of the league's best defensemen. Be A Player Legend Mario Lemieux will be featured on autographed and non-autographed limited cards. Five different cards will be signed by Mario and individually hand-numbered out of six.

Inserted into the Signature Series will be the final 100 cards numbered 151-250 of the Parkhurst 50th Anniversary Insert set. Collectors of the Be A Player Memorabilia and Rookie and Traded Sets can now complete their Parkhurst 50th Anniversary set. Inserted in the Signature Series will be Autographed Memorabilia Cards of Bernie Parent, Tony Esposito, Johnny Bower, Vladislav Tretiak and Gerry Cheevers. There will be four regular cards per pack along with one Autograph card and either a Memorabilia card, Be A Player He Shoots-He Scores Redemption card or a Mario Lemieux Retrospective card.

The Mario Lemieiux Retrospective Set includes twenty cards tracking Mario's brilliant career from Junior to his retirement and his now famous comeback. A must for Lemieiux collectors.

The Be A Player He Shoots, He Scores Redemption Program will allow collectors to redeem their cards for Special Memorabilia cards. Official redemption rules can be found on the backs of the redemption cards.
