2007-08 Between the Pipes

The return of Between The Pipes to the hockey card market last season was praised by collectors everywhere and In The Game is proud to announce the 2007-08 version with new features that are sure to appeal to hobbyists.

It all begins with a 100-card base set featuring four distinct subsets that have appealing and eye-catching designs. The first of these is Future Stars and it will include the hottest young goaltenders from the AHL, CHL and international play. Today's greatest netminders are a part of the Stars of the Game collection and a number of yesterday's goaltending heroes are included in the Greats of the Game subset. Closing out the set is a selection of former World Hockey Association goalies in The Rival League - a tribute to a renegade bunch of teams that took on the hockey establishment in the 1970s. With a retro look, these cards are sure to take you back to the days when collecting and trading was done in the schoolyard.

One of In The Game's key initiatives in 2007-08 has been to provide collectors with Autograph cards bearing a distinct design from the base set. Originally tried in last year's Between The Pipes release, the response from collectors was overwhelmingly positive. Building on that success, this year’s Between The Pipes features the Authentic GoalieGraphs collection-unique autograph cards designed to please collectors. Seeded at a rate of 1:16 packs, they are highly collectible and will be on many want lists.

Between The Pipes is also graced with a wide array of non-memorabilia inserts this season. There are three new concepts and feature distinct and attractive designs. Future of Goaltending is a look at some of the best prospects the game has to offer and Flashbacks takes a top star and gives collectors a look at them at the time before they established themselves as a top talent. Also included in the mix is a collection entitled Goaltending Traditions and it pairs up a prospect with a legend that has played for the same organization.

It wouldn't be a proper Between The Pipes series if it didn't include The Mask V – the fifth installment of these cards from In The Game. The cards will once again feature Dufex technology and the list of players included will be sure to impress and surprise.

Game-used memorabilia cards will once again be a prominent feature in Between The Pipes and concepts are still being developed by the In The Game team. Certain to return for another season is the ever-popular Complete Jersey cards and there will be new concepts such as First Round Goalies to appeal to collectors. Also keep your eyes peeled for the introduction of Complete Logo cards to the Between The Pipes lineup. The odds of pulling a Game-Used Memorabilia card are 1:20 packs and they will be limited to 90 copies or less.

The ever-popular He Shoots, He Saves Decoy/Redemption Card Program will be available once again. One redemption card will be included in each pack that does not contain a game-used memorabilia card. These extra-thick cards help deter pack searching and each comes with a value of one point. Collectors who accumulate 250 points will have the opportunity to redeem them for unique and limited game-used memorabilia cards which are not available in packs.

Releasing in March 6, 2008, Between The Pipes will be quite limited, so don't delay in placing your order. Each Hobby box will contain 24 packs and contain four cards plus one decoy or Game-Used Memorabilia card. Odds listed above for Autograph and Game-Used Memorabilia cards are for the entire production run and are not guaranteed in any individual box or cases.
