2002
Fall Expo, Toronto, Canada, November 15-17, 2002
For the first time ever, collectors at the show had an opportunity
to receive a special one-of-one game-worn memorabilia card! These were
in addition to the usual array of specially-stamped cards
sequentially numbered to 10, as well as other one-of-ones.
As usual, collectors participated by purchasing a variety of different sealed Be A Player and Parkhurst hockey card packs and boxes at the show. They opened them at In the Game's booth and received these unique cards in exchange for their wrappers.
Collectors were eligible to receive a one-of-one game-worn memorabilia card by opening three factory-sealed boxes of the 2002-03 First Edition product. All three boxes must have been opened at the same time, and all wrappers must have been given to In the Game personnel. These wrappers were not be eligible for any other redemption cards. After finishing the third box, collectors were eligible to draw a number from a box. Each number corresponded to a specific one-of-one memorabilia card and that is the card they received.
There was a total of 210 different one-of-one memorabilia cards available throughout the three days of the show and all originated from inserts found in the 2002-03 First Edition set. The list of cards included: 160 Jersey cards; 20 NHL Debut cards; 20 Team Scoring Leader cards; and 10 Magnificent Insert cards featuring Mario Lemieux. All the biggest stars in the NHL today were included within the group of 210 cards!
